Everton seal ‘perfect’ signing after Thelwell meeting – Wyness

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Sean Dyche will be the “perfect manager” for new signing Iliman Ndiaye.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested Toffees transfer chief Kevin Thelwell may have already met with prospective new owner Dan Friedkin to discuss plans for the summer window.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (25 June) that Everton are closing in on the signing of Marseille forward Ndiaye for a fee of nearly £20million.

It has since been widely reported that the Senegal international has undergone a medical as he inches closer to a Goodison Park transfer.

The move comes after Friedkin agreed to an exclusivity agreement with Farhad Moshiri last week ahead of a takeover at Everton.

Dyche will be ‘perfect’ manager for Ndiaye at Everton, says Wyness

Wyness suggested Ndiaye could be the first of several “major moves” under the American billionaire’s ownership.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “We watched him closely at Sheffield United, and he showed some great signs there.

“He was playing in a different kind of squad then. I think he will be working with Doucoure, Dyche sees him in that number ten role.

“He’s young, strong – and I think Dyche is the perfect manager for him.

“I’m a fan, and it seems to be the right price for him. His work ethic will be the thing which makes him successful for Everton, as we know, under Dyche.

“I think Friedkin, or his son, will have sat down with Kevin Thelwell and assessed the urgent positions which need to be filled.

“We’ll make sure we have a competitive squad which Dyche is happy with. We’re seeing the first major moves now.”
