Everton are going to make a late decision on whether to allow young defender Tyias Browning to leave the club on loan this month, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo has claimed that Toffees Under-23s boss David Unsworth will make a decision after the Manchester United Premier League 2 match on Monday.
The window shuts at 11.00pm on Tuesday night, leaving a move for the 22-year-old right-back very late in the window.
The youngster has played just once in the Toffees’ senior team this campaign with four appearances in the Premier League 2.
The player suffered a long-term injury in the last campaign and underwent keyhole surgery on his knee last December before returning in November.
Browning is a product of the Everton youth academy and made his first appearance for the club in a substitute appearance for Tony Hibbert in a Merseyside Derby clash in 2014.
He was highly regarded before his injury and he also enjoyed first team experience in a one-month loan deal to Championship side Wigan.
However, with both Seamus Coleman and Mason Holgate at the club first team football may now be hard to find for the former England Under-19 international.
His contract is also running out in the summer, meaning a loan move may be the best for his career as he looks to showcase his talents.
Football Insider verdict:
Browning has entered the last few months of his contract and due to his lack of appearances for the senior team at 22 it looks like his career at Everton may be coming to a premature end. Browning should not wait for the club to make a decision on whether to loan him out or not and he should in fact push for a temporary move to progress with his career. A loan move where he will likely see plenty of senior football will prove to potential suitors that he has what it takes to play for their club. However, some sides may steer clear if they only watch him playing in the Under-23s due to the lower standards of the English youth system.
