Everton have shortlisted three Premier League goalkeepers as they step up plans to strengthen their squad this summer, according to a report.
The Mail claim the Merseysiders are targeting Manchester City’s Joe Hart, Southampton’s Fraser Forster and Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel.
It is said Everton want a new keeper to replace the current senior pair Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles.
They have shared goalkeeping duties at Goodison Park this season, with Stekelenburg, who was signed from Ronald Koeman’s former club Southampton last summer, starting 16 of the team’s 28 Premier League matches.
Spaniard Robles, who has been the No1 since December, has started 12 of the league encounters.
Hart, 29, Forster, 29, and Schmeichel, 30, are all proven in the Premier League, with the City and Leicester men both Premier League winners.
The Mail report that Southampton are also pursuing Hart, who has spent the season on loan at Italian club Torino after being pushed out by Pep Guardiola.
Everton are next in action on Saturday against Hull at Goodison Park as they aim to keep their hopes of a top-four Premier League finish alive.
The Merseysiders have 47 points from 28 league matches but are eight points adrift of Liverpool, who are in the final Champions League spot.
In other Everton transfer news, there is friction at the club between manager Ronald Koeman and director of football Steve Walsh.
