The future of Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains very much up in the air until after the World Cup, but Everton should be waiting in the wings to try snap him up this summer.
He is a powerful destroyer that is currently on international duty with England this summer and looks set to be a Premier League star for years to come as he develops.
Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he will decide on his Chelsea future after participating in the World Cup and did claim he is desperate for regular minutes.
“Going forward I’ve really realised the importance of playing regularly for my own progress and development” Loftus-Cheek said, as quoted by the Mirror.
“I felt like I got better and better every game at Palace so playing regularly is the key going forward and that will help me make my decision after the World Cup.”
The Mirror’s report states that Chelsea are keen to keep him in the senior side next season after sending him out on loan to Crystal Palace in the 2017/18 season.
However, Everton should tempt Loftus-Cheek with a better offer of guaranteed football next season and he would be a real favourite if he moved to Goodison Park.
The central midfielder is a 6ft 3in (source: Transfermarkt) powerhouse that is very economical in possession and physically difficult to shrug off the ball.
He is beginning to show he can make a real difference in the final third too with game time for England and the loan with Crystal Palace, which has many people feeling he could play a crucial role for the nation in years to come.
Marco Silva’s Everton side should be an attractive option going into next year with an attacking philosophy and it would be interesting to see if they could persuade Loftus-Cheek to join.
In other Everton news, they must abandon their £40m pursuit and turn their attention to a Championship flyer.
