Everton source reveals truth behind James Garner to Man United
James Garner has started the season very well at Everton and has been linked with a move back to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old came through the Man United academy, but only made two Premier League appearances for the senior side.
This season, Garner has filled in at full-back for Everton when needed, showing his versatility and importance to the Toffees.
He has played every single minute this term under David Moyes, fast becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet.

James Garner’s agent could have planted Man United story
Garner’s Everton contract expires at the end of the season, with the Merseyside club looking to tie him down to a new deal.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009, remains well connected at the club and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the Englishman’s agent may have planted the story about a move to Man United in the media, to give them an edge in contract negotiations.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Garner will sign a new deal at Everton and stay with the club for a long time going forward.
Wyness added that the midfielder is loved by Moyes, with his versatility and hard work making him a massive asset to the squad.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I read the story linking Garner with Man United, and it just made me think straight away that his contract’s up at the end of the season, so it would be normal for his agent to try and put some sort of scare story out in the media.
“I think Garner is very much a Moyes-type player. He’s shown his versatility and his hard work, and apparently Moyes loves him. So that’ll get done. There’ll be a new contract, and Garner will be with Everton for a long time going forward.
“He’s the right age, whether he plays in defence or in midfield. I’ve been told he is the best dead-ball taker from outside the box in the squad in training. So he’s got a lot to offer.”
David Moyes wants to replace underperforming Everton player
Meanwhile, Moyes is determined to bring in a new striker at Everton amid concerns around the form of current centre-forward Beto.

That is according to former Man United and West Ham senior scout Mick Brown, who claims that work is already ongoing to identify options to replace the 27-year-old.
While there are concerns about the finances involved in landing a new striker, the recruitment team are aiming to identify options that fit their tight budget.
Some Everton fans have labelled Beto “the worst player in the league” as frustrations continue to grow about their lack of attacking threat.
