Everton stars 'don't have a clue' and neither does Lampard - Kenny

Everton don’t have the experience to navigate a relegation fight and Burnley will survive at their expense.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about this season’s run-in.

Everton lost 3-2 to fellow strugglers Burnley on Wednesday (6 April), leaving the club one point off the relegation zone ahead of the weekend of 9 April’s fixtures.

Ahead of those games, the Toffees sit one place and one point ahead of Burnley with both sides still to play nine games.

Kenny claims 18th place is a straight shootout between Burnley and Everton.

“Norwich and Watford are gone and I think the teams above Everton will all be fine,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s between those two and honestly, I think Burnley will do it. Those Everton players looked lost after that loss the other day.

“They don’t have a clue how to get out of this situation. Burnley do. That’s the big thing for me.

“Burnley do this every year, they know how to grind out results. Everton just don’t.

“I don’t think Lampard knows either, he’s never been in this position.

“That’s why I really fear for them at the moment.”

The Blues take on Manchester United at Goodison Park on Saturday (9 April).

Meanwhile, Burnley take on bottom side Norwich as they look to record back to back victories.
