Everton takeover hit by crushing blow after administration news – Kieran Maguire

A 777 Partners-owned airline entering administration this week is another “red flag” for their ongoing Everton takeover deal.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that 777’s lack of resources is the only reason the takeover has not been completed.

It was reported this week that Australian airline, Bonza, has entered voluntary administration this week.

The airline is owned by US-based group 777 Partners, who are still awaiting approval from the Premier League for their £500million Everton takeover deal.

As revealed by Football Insider, Everton could face a fresh nine-point deduction this season with the club now at risk of administration.

Everton takeover cast into doubt after new 777 ‘red flag’

Maguire explained that Bonza entering administration is a “red flag” and reinforces concerns over 777’s source of funding.

This is another red flag and there have been reservations from a variety of parties about 777’s funding since they were given the exclusive negotiating rights,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

That was a deal struck with Farhad Moshiri now seven or eight months ago.

We are seeing more issues now with regards to Bonza Airlines – who ironically have been the shirt sponsors of a football club on more than one occasion.

This appears to be a further indication that 777 are trying to spin an awful lot of plates with a decreasing number of sticks.

If 777 had the resources which they claim to, then this deal would have already gone through.
