Everton takeover: Keith Wyness reacts as Dan Friedkin finalises two new hires
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness believes Dan Friedkin has appointed two new board members to help with his plans to build a new stadium at Roma.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed the prospective Everton owner has taken on the “mammoth” task of building a new facility in the Italian capital.
Everton confirmed in a statement on 23 September The Friedkin Group (TFG), which also owns Roma, has reached an agreement to purchase owner Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent stake in the club.
A Companies House update last week revealed TFG had set up an acquisition vehicle to complete the purchase through, incorporating Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited, with a registered London address the same as the Friedkin group’s in the UK.
Analaura Moreira-Dunkel and Marcus Watts, who are both long-standing TFG employees, were named as directors.
Moreira-Dunkel has served as a board member at Roma since 2020, while Watts is president of the Texas-based company.
Everton prospective owner Dan Friedkin wants to build new Roma stadium
Wyness suggested Friedkin is still keen to build a new stadium in Rome despite his efforts to buy Everton.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think this may be more to do with the new stadium plans they’ve got in Rome.
“I don’t know the two individuals involved.
“But I’m guessing it’ll be around either the financial situation around a new stadium, planning, construction, all those sorts of areas.

“That would be my guess, but as I say, I haven’t got into the background of the two individuals.
“But I think that would be a fair assumption because I know Friedkin is still very keen on trying to build that new stadium in Rome, which really is a mammoth undertaking.”
