Everton tipped to complete eight signings with ‘Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker keen to join’
Man City star Kyle Walker may be surplus to requirements for Pep Guardiola but could get a new lease of life in England with Everton.
The Guardian reported on Monday (16 June) that Walker, 35, has emerged as an option for David Moyes’ side.
Everton are expected to be active in this summer transfer window following The Friedkin Group’s takeover and ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (18 June) that Everton’s owners plan to back Moyes with a summer budget of around £70million.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – admitted a deal for Walker will be difficult to do, but claimed his experience could be vital with big turnover in the squad this summer.

Walker is not a done deal – but could be vital for Everton, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted he expects Everton to make between six and eight new signings before the 1 September deadline.
Carlos Alcaraz has already signed permanently from Flamengo following a successful loan at Goodison Park in the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
Wyness insisted Moyes will only go for a “heavily subsidised loan deal” if Everton are to sign veteran right-back Walker.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I suppose the attraction for Walker and potentially Grealish is not moving out of the northwest.
“So there could be something to it.
“However, I think again the money wanted by City would be probably too much. I think it will have to be a very heavily subsidised loan deal for Moyes to be interested.
“If the numbers can work and there’s a contribution that can work, there’s certainly a need for experience in the team, especially if Moyes is going to bring in a new group.
“There’s going to have to be at least between six and eight new players coming in.
“It would be good to have some experienced heads around there to help everybody mould together. But I just have a few more doubts.
“I don’t think Walker is quite the done deal that a lot of people think.”

Everton could agree £35m striker deal
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (14 June) that Everton have been told a £35million offer for Villarreal striker Thierno Barry will be accepted as they plan to make a big-money offer.
Barry, 22, has been identified as a key target for the Toffees as they prepare for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract.
He moved to Villarreal from Basel just last summer (2024) and his contract is set to run until 2029, meaning the La Liga club are under no pressure to sell.
