‘Everton to complete 10 signings this summer – it is huge’
Everton are off the mark in the summer transfer window after completing the permanent capture of Charly Alcaraz in recent days.
The Toffees are expected to be active in the off-season after a takeover from The Friedkin Group banished financial concerns on Merseyside.
Everton will also move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium this term – providing a much-needed boost for the club’s revenue to help them in the transfer market.
David Moyes‘ side finished only 13th in the Premier League table in the 2024-25 campaign but had been flirting with the bottom three when Sean Dyche was sacked earlier this year.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted he expects at least 10 incomings at his old side this summer after a “weird” development.

Everton set for ‘huge’ signing spree this summer, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the number of stars out of contract at Everton this month will mean they have to be very active in the market.
Orel Mangala, Armando Broja, Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom have already returned to their parent clubs after loan spells.
Meanwhile – Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young, Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic will leave the club at the end of their deals later this month – and Everton are waiting for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to make a final decision.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “The weird thing with Everton this summer is that we have so many players out of contract.
“I think there’s going to be at least 10 incomings, which is a huge number.
“I’m still concerned about the recruitment team. We still haven’t got the whole team in place, with the new owners coming in – Thelwell and Purdy moving on.
“There are still places to be filled.
“I think it’s going to be a quiet June, but a very busy July and onwards until the deadline for Everton.”

Everton join race for free transfer star
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (5 June) that Everton and West Ham are among the clubs joining the race to land Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer.
Brighton, Fulham and European clubs are also weighing up approaches for the two-cap England international, who is out of contract this month.
The versatile defender was relegated with Southampton this term but has a wealth of Premier League experience after joining the Saints on an initial loan in 2020.
