‘Everton to swoop for Kyle Walker-Peters signing after deal collapses’

David Moyes may finally be able to bring Kyle Walker-Peters to Everton as the full-back’s future takes yet another twist this summer.

The 28-year-old full-back is currently without a club following the expiration of his contract at Southampton, where he made a total of 200 appearances across two different spells.

With six goals and 12 assists in that time, he is not the most attacking-minded defender in England, but his record in the backline is exemplary, and it is no wonder that so many teams are interested.

Football Insider understood as recently as last month that both Everton and West Ham were interested in Walker-Peters, though Turkish giants Besiktas had entered the race.

Kyle Walker-Peters transfer falls through

The race for the right-back looked to be over as he jetted out to Turkey to complete a move this summer, but that no longer looks to be the case following the latest surprise announcement.

Writing on their official website, Besiktas confirmed that the club have given up on signing the former Tottenham player after he requested more time over a decision.

An agreement had been reached in principle, and with no club to deal with over a transfer fee, it appeared the transfer was set in stone, but Moyes can re-enter the transfer market for his signature.

David Moyes to reinforce right-back spot at Everton

With deals done for Thierno Barry, Carlos Alcaraz, and Mark Travers, The Friedkin Group clearly mean business ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, leaving Farhad Moshiri’s reign far behind.

Last season, due to Seamus Coleman‘s continuous injury problems, Jake O’Brien was trusted out of position, and the Toffees finally looked set to fix that problem this summer.

Everton appeared set to sign Fulham’s Kenny Tete on a free transfer, at least that was until a major u-turn emerged and the Dutchman penned new terms at Craven Cottage instead.

Burnley’s new signing, Kyle Walker, was also linked with a move to Merseyside, but with Walker-Peters now back on the market, searching for a new club, Moyes’ side must act quickly.

Everton have struggled to deal with the right-back spot over the last few seasons, and given the former Southampton defender’s ability in defence, it is a no-brainer signing for Moyes’ side.
