Everton told to appoint Ferguson after ‘big’ Sky reveal – pundit
Paul Robinson has claimed Vitor Pereira’s appointment would be “a big risk” for Everton – and they should “100 per cent” appoint Duncan Ferguson instead.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham and England goalkeeper said the 53-year-old’s lack of Premier League experience is a concern.
Ferguson, 50, is on caretaker duty at Goodison Park while the club search for Rafael Benitez’s permanent successor.

In a statement (21 January), Everton owner Farhad Moshiri told fans that the board are “keen to make an appointment as quickly as possible.”
Pereira is the current favourite for the job after interviewing earlier this week.
Speaking to Sky Sports (26 January), Pereira revealed he had received “good feedback” from multiple interviews with people at the club.
Robinson “cannot understand” why the club do not want to appoint Ferguson on a permanent basis.
“Pereira is untried and tested in the Premier League,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Yes, Pereira has got a very good CV but they would be taking a big risk there.
“You have to think that world-class managers like Carlo Ancelotti, Ronald Koeman and Rafa Benitez have struggled at Everton.
“They need somebody in right now who understands the club. I cannot understand why they would go for Pereira when they have Ferguson there. I am 100 per cent in Ferguson’s camp. Give him the job.”

Pereira has managed in Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and China during his career.
He won titles with FC Porto, Olympiakos and Shanghai SIPG.
