Everton: Tyrique George can be Iliman Ndiaye’s replacement if David Moyes gives him a shot
Everton manager David Moyes needs to give Tyrique George some better opportunities to impress before the end of the season as a permanent transfer from Chelsea is all but ruled out.
George has struggled to make an impact at Everton since he joined the club on loan from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
He has failed to score in five appearances so far, and according to a new report from the Daily Mail, George is currently likely to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of his loan spell if nothing changes.
Everton do hold an option to buy in his contract, though, and Moyes has clearly been reluctant to use him as they climb up the Premier League table.
The Toffees’ boss needs to increase the 20-year-old’s game time between now and the end of the season, as it could be a huge boost to Everton’s transfer plans this summer.

George is undoubtedly a talented player, having burst onto the scene at Chelsea last season to play 24 games in all competitions and register seven goal contributions.
He was a key part of their Conference League triumph, with 13 appearances in the competition, yet struggled for game time early in this campaign, with four goals in 13 matches.
| Appearances (starts) | 9 (1) |
| Minutes played | 247′ |
| Shots on target | 3 |
| Successful pass % | 77.1% |
| Successful dribble % | 42.9% |
| Fouls won | 1 |
| Dispossessed | 7 |
Upon his arrival at Everton, the versatile forward admitted that Moyes was a big reason as to why he wanted to join and dubbed him an “amazing” manager and person.
The Scot has since snubbed George in favour of players that are contracted to the Toffees and have played in his side for the whole season, like Iliman Ndiaye, Beto and Dwight McNeil.
George has started one game for the club and played just four minutes off the bench in the last three games that he has been available for, so clearly needs to be tested more before a final decision is made on his future.
Ndiaye is undroppable on the left wing, but the 20-year-old could well be handed more game time on the right ahead of McNeil, who is in decent form but has yet to score a league goal this season.
He could also be deployed as a striker, with more minutes surely on offer if he is picked to come on for in-form Beto ahead of the struggling Thierno Barry.
George could be a real asset to Everton if Iliman Ndiaye leaves
Another reason why Everton, and Moyes in particular, should not be so quick to rule out a permanent move for George is down to Ndiaye’s uncertain future at the club.
The Senegalese playmaker has been on fire for the Toffees this season, and scored a superb sixth goal of the campaign against Chelsea last time out.
Sources have told Football Insider that Everton would accept a huge offer for Ndiaye this summer, with the likes of Arsenal and Man United reportedly interested.
It would surely, therefore, make sense for George to be given more minutes in case both players depart the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer and Moyes is stuck needing to sign two new left wingers.
