Everton youngster Tom Davies has been named in the shortlist to win the PFA Fans’ player of the month award for January.
The PFA announced on their official website the inclusion of the 18-year-old, who only made his first Everton start this season in January.
He is in contention to win the award alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Alexis Sanchez and Deli Alli.
Davies put in a man of the match performance when he scored to help his side beat Manchester City 4-0 in one of the games of the season so far in the Premier League.
He was also crucial to his side in wins against Southampton and Crystal Palace as he bagged an assist in each game.
Davies has started 12 games for the Everton Under-23 side this season in the Premier League 2, but hasn’t had anywhere near the impact he has made on the first team for Ronald Koeman, whose side sit seventh in the table after Saturday’s 6-3 win over Bournemouth.
The victory over the Cherries was the only time Davies didn’t start for Everton since the start of January as they won three and drew one of the four games he started.
The shortlist for the award was chosen by Paul Merson, Paul Beagrie, Mike Riley and chairman of the Football Supporters’ Association Malcolm Clarke.
