Everton hunt for dazzling £25m ace ripping up league could spell end for Goodison mainstay
With Everton in the hunt for Norwich City attacking-midfielder James Maddison according to the Telegraph, it begs the question where that leaves the future of Gylfi Sigurdsson at Goodison Park should a move come off.
After an initially slow start on Merseyside for the Toffees forward after his move from Swansea City last summer, the Icelandic international has gone on to become one of the Blues most consistent performers this season prior to his injury against Brighton – one which ruled him out of action for the remainder of the campaign.
£25million-rated Maddison has been imperious in the Championship this season, where he has notched up 15 goals and set up a further 11 for his teammates.
He has impressed to such a point that he is also attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, whilst being dubbed “one of the country’s most promising talents.”
But should the Toffees steal in ahead of their Premier League rivals and capture the 21-year-old, it’s highly unlikely that Sigurdsson would accept a lesser role in the side and with Maddison wanting to play first-team football, something would have to give in order for this move to go through.

The young Norwich ace would be a hit in the top-flight should a move come off but if Sam Allardyce does somehow remain in charge beyond the end of the summer, the Canaries forward will not be moving to the Blues.
