‘Everton’s six-man signing plan revealed after two deals agreed’

David Moyes has laid out his six-man transfer plan at Everton as they prepare to step up their activity in the summer transfer window.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Moyes is planning to sign two new full-backs, two wingers, a midfielder and a striker.

New deals for both Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gueye have ticked two names off of the list, but they remain keen to strengthen in other key areas.

Brown told Football Insider on 9 July that Everton want to sign Wesley Franca at right-back and could hijack Brighton’s £20million move for the Brazilian.

Out wide, Football Insider revealed on 14 July that Everton could make a move for Jack Harrison despite letting him return to Leeds when his loan deal expired.

Meanwhile, the likes of Conor Gallagher and Wilfred Ndidi have been linked as the midfield addition, with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Mihailo Ivanovic targeted up front.

David Moyes lays out new transfer plan at Everton

Brown told Football Insider in April that Moyes made a four-man transfer plan with full-backs and wingers at the top of his list of targets.

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted a new striker and midfielder have joined the list of key additions.

They’ve got some big problems at Everton that need sorting out,” he told Football Insider.

“They’ve agreed new contracts for Branthwaite and Gueye, so that’s two positions done.

“A new striker has come in as well, Barry, who should be a good addition.

“But David Moyes feels there are too many positions they need to strengthen in, and is pushing to make moves after a slow start to the window.

“They want to strengthen in both full-back positions, particularly at right-back.

“Wingers are going to be a priority as well, because they’re particularly weak out wide.

“Then they want a new midfielder to replace Doucoure who was a big part of that team.

“And they want another striker as well as the one they’ve just brought in because they need to reliable options to lead the line in case anything happens.

“So it’s going to be a busy time at Everton because they ideally want these deals done before the start of the new season, otherwise they’ll be left behind.”

John McGinn update emerges as Aston Villa stance revealed

In their attempts to strengthen in midfield during the summer transfer window, the Toffees had considered a move to sign Aston Villa star John McGinn.

However, Football Insider revealed on 10 July that Aston Villa rejected Everton’s enquiry, and are insisting McGinn is not available to leave Villa Park.

Sources say that Everton are planning to move for McGinn later in the transfer window if Unai Emery’s side add midfield reinforcements.

The Toffees have been told that the Scotland international was unhappy with being regularly subbed by Emery in big Villa games last season, and are willing to pay up to £30million to bring him to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
