Everything we know about Jadon Sancho’s Man United exit – How much he earns and what clubs want him

Jadon Sancho is set to leave Man United on a free transfer in the summer, five years after he completed a £73million move from Borussia Dortmund.

The Red Devils have an option of an additional 12 months, but according to The Sun, transfer chiefs have decided against triggering it.

Sancho earns around £200,000 per week, and Man United are not ready to risk paying it for a final year in the hopes of agreeing a sale for a small fee.

The winger is currently on loan at Aston Villa, where he has begun to feature more prominently in Unai Emery’s thinking.

The England international initially struggled for minutes, but has now started eight of Villa’s last 11 games across all competitions.

Where could Jadon Sancho go?

Sancho reportedly rejected offers from both Besiktas and Roma last summer before making the deadline-day move to Villa.

The winger appears desperate to prove that he can do it in the Premier League, even if that is away from Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old spent last season at Chelsea and had a particularly good Conference League campaign, but the Blues were not convinced enough to sign him permanently.

Should Villa take the same approach, Sancho will be forced to start again and may even have to look back to Germany.

The Sun reports that Bayer Leverkusen and Dortmund could move for the forward, who thrived in the Bundesliga before making the switch to Man United.

In just 118 appearances in the competition, Sancho scored 40 goals and provided 47 assists.

Will the Premier League offer Sancho another opportunity?

It is certainly not yet ruled out that Sancho’s stay at Villa Park is extended past this summer.

Emery has been keen to utilise the winger, and if a cut to his wages can be agreed, there would be little risk in signing him permanently.

Should he leave, however, the options elsewhere in the Premier League would be limited.

The likes of Nottingham Forest, if they stay up, would likely be priced out of paying Sancho’s wages, and clubs such as Everton and Newcastle United would be wary of the risk.

The 25-year-old does have time to prove his worth, however. A strong final few months of the season could work wonders for his prospects in the summer market.
