Ex-PGMOL chief says Bournemouth should have had a penalty
Bournemouth would have felt hard done by at 1-0 down when Issa Diop seemed to foul striker Evanilson in the box.
Simon Hooper adjudged that it wasn’t a foul and the VAR concurred, but ex-PGMOL chief Keith Hackett disagreed.
Hackett spoke exclusively to Football Insider, saying: “Bournemouth will be disappointed that the match officials did not penalise the blatant push on Evanilson.”
“Whilst viewing angles on the incident produced only a limited amount of views. The push certainly impacted on the Bournemouth player.
“It was a push, and it was a foul. Therefore, the award of a penalty kick should have been the outcome.”
