Ex-striker claims fans have 'no idea' as he makes bold Arsenal prediction
Frank McAvennie has tipped Arsenal to be fighting “towards the top” of the Premier League table after beating Tottenham.
The former West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, boldly predicted Mikel Arteta will be “lauded” by the fans despite coming under fire in recent months.
Arsenal claimed their third win in three games with a comprehensive 3-1 north London derby victory over Tottenham last Sunday.
The Gunners scored eight goals and conceded one in September as they put their early-season performances behind them.
Arsenal now sit 10th in the Premier League table after being rock bottom after three matches.

McAvennie insisted that Arteta’s previous struggles will soon be forgotten about if the Gunners can put a further run of form together.
“You have no idea the confidence that winning games can bring,” he told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“That is three games in a row he has won now.
“That’s what he’ll (Arteta) be happy about. Not necessarily the structure of the side, but the confidence in the players. It looks like they’ve found another level.
“The strikers are scoring goals; things are working well and it’s coming good.
“They’ll be back fighting towards the top rather than the bottom, and Arteta will be lauded again.”
Arteta has had a mixed spell since becoming Arsenal boss in 2019.
He has picked up an average of 1.61 points per game across 61 Premier League matches.
His predecessor, Unai Emery, left with an average of 1.73 points across his 51 league matches in charge.
The Gunners travel to Brighton tomorrow (October 2nd) in a bid to win five consecutive games.
