Ex-striker makes 'raging' Kane claim amid £30m Tottenham reveal

Frank McAvennie insists Tottenham must cash in on Harry Kane now, before his valuation plummets.

The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest claims on the striker’s future.

On 18th August, The Telegraph reported that Kane’s camp believe City have placed a new bid worth £125million.

However is was also claimed Levy is refusing to pick up the phone to City chiefs as they are yet to match Kane’s reported £150million price tag.

McAvennie can’t believe how this saga is playing out and he implored Daniel Levy to accept City’s offer.

“What’s going on now is wrong, Kane must be raging,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I trust Kane over Levy, 100%. There were agreements and handshakes and whatever else.

“That’s not how clubs are run, that’s not what Tottenham are about.

“Kane’s value is going down all the time, he’s 28 now. Next summer you can whack £20million or £30million off that valuation.

“It’s £125million, how has he [Levy] not accepted that? Just do the deal, do it now.

“How many quality players can you buy for £125million? I’m not sure what Tottenham’s plan is.

“Something needs to happen before the window closes, it’s been a farce, it’s now ridiculous and it’s only getting worse.”

Spurs beat Manchester City 1-0 on the season’s opening day as Son Heung-Min’s goal proved to be the difference.

However, Nuno Espirito Santos’ young side were beaten by Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.

In other news, ex-manager claims Levy is desperate to offload defender and get his “massive wages” off the Tottenham bill.
