Exactly how much Hearts are set to win if Scottish Premiership title is secured

Hearts are in a three-horse race to win the Scottish Premiership title, and could bank millions if they maintain their hold at the summit.

According to Scottish Football.info on 11 February, the winner of the top-flight is estimated to be awarded £4,703,400 for their final position in the table.

This resembles 13.4 per cent of the entire prize money across all four of the Scottish four divisions.

As a result, achieving this would provide a substantial financial boost for Derek McInnes’ side ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Scottish Premiership prize money explained

If Hearts were to finish top, it would present a significant increase in prize money compared to last season.

In the 2024-25 campaign, the Jambos finished seventh, which saw £2,018,250 come their way.

Therefore, a Scottish Premiership title would see this more than double if it can be achieved by the end of the campaign.

However, a third or even second-place finish would see this prize money dramatically fall off.

For finishing third, the club is estimated to be awarded £2,895,750, whereas in second, you get £3,369,600.

Therefore, on top of this glory of winning the title, the instant financial implications for Hearts could be huge, especially after they missed out on European football this season.

Additional fees Hearts have brought in

On top of their final league position prize money, Hearts are also set to bring in £143,000 from their participation in the domestic cups.

The Jambos were knocked out by eventual winners St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup second round on penalties, while Falkirk repeated this feat in the Scottish Cup.

As a result, the prize money that Hearts are set to bring in overall will be minimal compared to other clubs in the division due to their lack of European football and their early elimination in the domestic cups.

However, if they can continue their fine form for the remainder of the season, Hearts could be awarded an eyewatering amount of money in the next campaign, especially if they qualify for the Champions League’s league phase.

Nevertheless, McInnes will need to focus on the task at hand at present, which is winning the Scottish Premiership title.
