Exclusive: 49ers well placed to agree multiple Leeds deals as news confirmed
Leeds United are well placed to agree multiple commercial deals after sealing promotion back to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.
The Yorkshire giants have spent the past two seasons in the Championship, having been relegated from the top flight in 2023.
Daniel Farke’s side were narrowly beaten by Southampton in the play-off final last season, but they have gone one better this time after securing automatic promotion.
Although Leeds are currently level on points with Burnley, they have a far superior goal difference as they look to seal the Championship title heading into the final two games of the campaign.
Sports business expert Lukasz Baczek reported on 22 April the Whites are likely to earn £10million again from their sponsorship deal with Adidas after it was significantly reduced following their relegation.
49ers Enterprises has been putting plans in place for a return to the Premier League since completing its £170million takeover in July 2023, bringing former owner Andrea Radrizzani’s six-year reign at Elland Road to an end.
Sources have told Football Insider the 49ers will be better placed to agree multiple commercial deals following Leeds’ promotion to the top flight.
There are various high-profile figures invested in the ownership group, including actors Will Ferrell and Russell Crowe as well as American golfing stars Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

Leeds posted record-breaking financial results
Leeds posted a record-breaking Championship revenue last season despite seeing their turnover fall from £189.7million in 2022-23 to £127.6million.
That was driven by a £57.9million drop in broadcast revenue, which fell from £111.5million to £53.6million last season as a result of their relegation.
Matchday income at Elland Road improved from £29.9million to £30.6million, while commercial revenue slipped from £48.2million to £43.3million across the same period.
The club’s losses increased from £33.7million to £60.8million in 2023-24 as they continue to toe the financial fair play (FFP) line.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Leeds could face a profit and sustainability (PSR) issue following their return to the Premier League, with top-flight clubs only permitted to lose £105million over a rolling three-year period.

Kalvin Phillips stance revealed on Leeds return
In terms of matters on the pitch, Football Insider revealed on 21 April Kalvin Phillips is interested in returning to Leeds ahead of the summer transfer window.
It is believed the Whites are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old’s situation as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Phillips is set to return to Manchester City at the end of this season after spending the campaign with Ipswich Town, who are on the verge of being relegated from the top flight.
The midfielder is under contract at the Etihad until June 2028, but it’s believed Pep Guardiola doesn’t see him in his plans moving forward.
