Exclusive: Adam Brennan heads to Hull City ahead of potential move

Hull City have invited UCD sensation Adam Brennan on trial as they weigh up a move for him, sources have told Football Insider.

Brennan, 18, has impressed for League of Ireland First Division side UCD this season with nine goals and 12 assists in 28 appearances.

His performances have brought him onto the radar of a number of English clubs.

Hull enjoy a good relationship with UCD having signed Cathal McCarthy and and Hugh Parker from the Dublin-based club in the last 12 months and Brennan is set to be offered the chance to try and win a move to the Tigers.

Brennan is set to link up with Hull later this month after the upcoming international break as he is due to feature for Republic of Ireland Under-19s.

Hull City continue their pursuit of growing youth talent with Ben Dyer

The focus from the Tigers on bringing in youth talent through the ranks is nothing new for Sergej Jakirovic.

Sources told Football Insider on 16 October that Hull are prepared to offer a deal to Ben Dyer after he impressed on trial.

The 18-year-old impressed for Hull’s Under-21s during his trial, with two assists in a 4-1 win over Crewe, and the club are working on a contract for the non-league youngster.

The careful planning from the Tigers reflects their recent good form, sitting seventh in the Championship after 13 games with 22 points.

Bringing in further youth prodigies will continue to put them in good stead as they work towards eventual promotion back to the Premier League.

Brennan not the only Irishman on English clubs’ radars

A compatriot of Brennan who is also catching the eye, sources told Football Insider on 29 October that Premier League clubs are lining up to sign Billy O’Neill.

The Bray Wanderers forward has been in sensational form, notching 12 goals in 30 appearances in the Ireland First Division.

Similar to Brennan, the 17-year-old has also featured at junior level for his country and is set to compete at the Under-17s World Cup in Qatar in November.
