Exclusive: Allan Campbell set for Dundee Utd as Luton loan to Charlton cancelled
Dundee United are closing in on the signing of Luton Town midfielder Allan Campbell, sources have told Football Insider.
Campbell joined the Hatters in the summer of 2021, moving from Motherwell when his contract at Fir Park expired.
The midfielder has made a total of 86 appearances in all competitions for the Kenilworth Road club (Transfermarkt), but spent last season on loan with Millwall.
The summer transfer window saw the 26-year-old leave Luton on loan again as he joined Charlton Athletic, and Campbell is now in line for another move before the January transfer window closes.
Luton loanee to swap Charlton for Dundee United
Earlier this month Football Insider reported that a number of Scottish Premiership clubs were interested in a deal for Campbell.
It is now understood that Dundee United are closing in on a deal to complete the signing of the Luton Town midfielder.
The 26-year-old is expected to cut short his loan spell with Charlton Athletic in order to complete his move to Tannadice Park.
Jim Goodwin’s side currently sit third in the Scottish Premiership table, and have already completed the loan signings of Lewis Fiorini and Ruari Paton in the January transfer window.

Luton have had a busy time in the market this month as well as they look to climb out of the Championship relegation zone, just months after being relegated from the Premier League.
The Hatters have already signed Isaiah Jones, Thelo Aasgard permanently, while also re-signing Kal Naismith on loan in the current window.
Football Insider understands they have also had a £1.5million. bid accepted for Exeter City attacker Millenic Alli.
They do however look set to bid farewell to Campbell once again as he nears his move to Dundee United.
In other news, Wycombe have responded to another bid from Luton Town for Richard Kone.
