Exclusive: Ange Postecoglou set for £7m payout after Tottenham sack
Ange Postecoglou could be set to receive a £7million payout if he’s sacked as Tottenham manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The Australian boss led Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years following their Europa League final victory over Manchester United in Bilbao on 21 May.
Postecoglou is understood to be in line for a £2million bonus after leading the north London giants to their first European trophy since 1984.
Tottenham banked around £38million in prize money from the Europa League this season, with their final success earning them a place in next season’s Champions League.
However, Spurs have endured a miserable campaign domestically after finishing 17th in the Premier League table.
Football Insider revealed on 23 May Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham is 50/50 after the club’s board have held fresh talks about his position.
The 59-year-old is understood to earn around £5million a year, with his deal set to run until June 2027.
Sources have told Football Insider Postecoglou is likely to receive a full year’s salary if he is sacked, meaning he could be set to bank a £7million payout, including his Europa League bonus.

Tottenham to sack Ange Postecoglou immediately
Postecoglou’s time at Tottenham has been relatively mixed since joining the club from Celtic in 2023.
The Spurs boss received many plaudits for his high-pressing, attack-minded approach during his first campaign in north London, where his side finished fifth in the Premier League table.
Although Postecoglou has had to deal with several injuries to key players this season, he admitted Tottenham’s league form has been unacceptable, having suffered 22 defeats in their 38 top-flight matches.
Daniel Levy is expected to make the final decision on the Australian’s future beyond this campaign.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider he expects Tottenham to sack Postecoglou immediately despite their Europa League success.

Tottenham coach opens West Brom talks
In another potential exit, Football Insider revealed on 24 May Tottenham coach Ryan Mason has opened talks with West Brom to become their next manager.
The 33-year-old is now in pole position to be the new boss of the Championship outfit, who missed out on promotion after finishing ninth in the latest campaign.
Mason is currently part of Postecoglou’s staff and has worked under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte at Spurs, while also previously taking on the managerial role on an interim basis.
