Exclusive: Arsenal goalkeeper set to leave

Arsenal are preparing to see a number of their first-team players leave the club come the end of the season ahead of a busy summer.

Mikel Arteta’s squad is already lacking in depth, and with the arrival of Andrea Berta, plans are being put in place to replace any outgoing stars.

A mixture of ageing players, loanees, and options who have now become surplus to requirements are all likely to be moved on amid an overhaul of the first-team squad.

On top of Berta’s arrival, Football Insider exclusively revealed that James Ellis is expected to leave Arsenal as part of a major recruitment shake-up at the Emirates.

The changes to the recruitment team are expected to have an immediate impact on the futures of a number of Arteta’s current fringe options.

Neto to leave Arsenal after Bournemouth latest

One player who now looks certain to leave the Emirates come the summer transfer window is Neto, who has spent the season on loan in North London.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Neto is unlikely to remain at the club beyond the end of his loan spell and will instead return to Bournemouth.

During his time at Arsenal, the one-cap Brazil international has made just one appearance given David Raya’s importance in Arteta’s first-team plans.

Questions were almost immediately asked about the reasons for bringing him in on loan given the fact he was ineligible for Carabao Cup ties.

Meanwhile he did not play a single minute in the FA Cup or Premier League, and has featured more times for his parent club Bournemouth this season than Arsenal.

He will now return to Bournemouth amid speculation over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga, where the Cherries will decide his long-term future.

Crystal Palace stance on Eberechi Eze move revealed

While a number of players are set to leave Arsenal this summer, plans are also being put in place to bolster Arteta’s options, with a number of star names on their list.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 10 April that Arsenal “would love” to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in the window.

Arsenal have identified their midfield as a key area for improvement, while he is also capable of playing on the left-hand side to provide an alternative to Gabriel Martinelli.

The England international has a release clause worth £60million in his contract and the Eagles are unwilling to let him leave for anything less than that price.
