Exclusive: Arsenal’s new priority striker signing revealed after talks open
Arsenal will likely have to wait until the summer to land a new forward as they pursue top targets, sources have told Football Insider.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has revealed his transfer team are actively working on a new arrival before the 3 February deadline.
However, it is believed Arsenal will not panic if their top targets are not available – meaning they could miss out on a signing in this window.
Sources say negotiations are difficult and in a new twist, the title challengers are set to be forced to wait until the summer window to dip into the market.
RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko has been identified as the priority target but the Bundesliga outfit are not willing to part with him mid-season after holding talks with the Gunners.
Wolves’ Matheus Cunha has also been lined up by Arsenal but the Molineux club have set a similar stance after being approached over a potential deal this month.
