Exclusive: Aston Villa and Brighton set sights on Leeds star Summerville

Aston Villa and Brighton are both admirers of Leeds United star man Crysencio Summerville, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed there is huge interest in the 22-year-old, who has been the outstanding player for the Whites since their relegation to the Championship.

High-flying Premier League duo Villa and Brighton are the latest sides to hold a serious interest in Summerville – and it is believed that both clubs have made the winger a long-term target.

However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Leeds have “no intention” of letting the Netherlands Under-21 international leave this month.

It is believed they will resist all offers for his services in the mid-season window.

Summerville is seen as vital to Leeds’ promotion bid and the club will do their utmost to resist offers in January.

The right-footer has notched 12 goals and six assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for Leeds so far this term.

He is the top scorer for Daniel Farke’s side, who sit fourth in the Championship following their relegation from the top tier last season.

Summerville is under contract at Elland Road until June 2026 after penning a contract extension in August 2022.

He joined the Yorkshire giants from Feyenoord in 2020 and made his first-team breakthrough under Jesse Marsch last season.

Both Aston Villa and Brighton are now established top-half Premier League sides and will play European knockout-stage football later this season.

Leeds sit seven points adrift of an automatic promotion place in the Championship ahead of their next league clash against Cardiff (13 January).
