Exclusive: Aston Villa open talks to sign Lutsharel Geertruida
Aston Villa have opened talks to sign Feyenoord right-back Lutsharel Geertruida, sources have told Football Insider.
The Midlands giants have turned their attention to landing the 24-year-old right-back after losing Matty Cash for a month with a hamstring injury.
Cash, 27, is the only recognised senior right-back at Villa, and Unai Emery has given the green light to sign proven cover for the position.
Geertruida is out of contract at Feyenoord in the summer of 2025 and is believed to be open to a move to the Champions League outfit.

He’s also a goal threat – Geertruida has provided an impressive 35 goal contributions from a defensive position during his time at the club.
Villa remain in the market for another centre-back and have been linked with a move for Liverpool man Joe Gomez.
