Exclusive: Aston Villa’s Kadan Young agrees Royal Antwerp deal
Aston Villa winger Kadan Young has agreed a deal to join Royal Antwerp on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old was a loan target for a number of clubs in the summer, but opted to remain at Villa Park for the first half of the season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed in May that a number of German Bundesliga sides had expressed an interest in his performances with Villa’s under-21s.
Since then, he has appeared on the bench seven times for the senior side and featured in both of Villa’s Carabao Cup fixtures, playing 86 minutes in a win v Wycombe Wanders and 12 in a defeat to Crystal Palace.
Now, Antwerp have moved ahead of the competition to land his signature and are closing in on the deal being completed before the 3 February deadline.
He will undergo a medical with the Belgian club before putting the finishing touches on the deal and officially signing the contract for a six-month loan.

Young is highly rated by staff at Villa Park, and there is a belief that getting regular experience at senior level will help him improve his game.
After impressing at academy level and in his cameo appearances for the senior side, Villa agreed that the time has come for him to take his next step.
The club still hold high hopes for his future and will hope to see a continued step up in performance with a view to becoming a member of Unai Emery’s first-team squad.
A move to the Belgian Pro League is seen as a positive move for Young to continue his development, where Royal Antwerp are currently fourth in the table.
The 19-year-old will arrive as they look to strengthen their squad to secure European qualification, with any outside hopes of a title fading as they are now 14 points behind the league leaders.
