Darren Bent claimed Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana will already know his Reds career is all but over.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England international shared that Lallana probably knows that he just has to focus on getting over injuries and finding a club to join where he’ll get regular football.
Jurgen Klopp recently confirmed that the English midfielder had a small injury issue hence why he didn’t make the Reds’ squad for the trip to face Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.
Bent shared that he was sympathetic to Lallana’s situation, but pointed out he didn’t really have much of a chance of when it comes regularly featuring for the Reds.
When asked about if it’s hard not to feel sorry for Lallana picking up another injury, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah it is tough for him and he probably knows that his (Liverpool stay) is soon coming towards the end.
“And obviously with the Liverpool team like it is, he isn’t going to get in that midfield three.
“He’s an intelligent guy, he knows that it’s just about him getting over injuries and going somewhere he is going to play.”
Lallana has been at Anfield since joining from Southampton in 2014 and has made 166 appearances for the Reds.
The 31-year-old has played 10 times across all competitions this season for Klopp’s side but his contract is currently on course to expire at the end of the season.
In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that there has been a major new Rhian Brewster transfer development.
