Exclusive: Bent suggests in-form attacker could be tempted to join reportedly keen Aston Villa
Darren Bent suggested Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen could be tempted to join Aston Villa as the Villans are one of the biggest clubs in England.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-Villans forward shared he didn’t think it was a difficult decision to choose between Hull City and the Villans.
It was recently reported that Dean Smith’s side along with Newcastle United, Brighton and Southampton were all keen on signing Bowen in the January window.
Bent even implied that Bowen could even be open to joining the Villans if they get relegated as he will be aware the club have more than enough to instantly bounce straight back up.
When asked if the Villans could use Bowen’s dad being a Villa fan as a shrewd way of convincing him to join, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah but listen at the end of the day, there doesn’t even need to be a connection even though his dad is a Villa fan…Aston Villa are a big club.
“Hull City are in the Championship, Aston Villa are in the Premier League, they’re one of the biggest clubs in England, you know what I mean?

“I don’t think it’ll be a difficult decision to pick Aston Villa over Hull City, it’s not a difficult decision for me at all.
“Also if the worst comes to the worst, Villa still have more than enough to come straight back up if relegated so I think he’ll be a good signing.”
The 23-year-old winger has been in red-hot form this season as he has racked up 17 goals in 25 appearances.
Bowen revealed in an interview with Sky Sports last season that despite speculation he wasn’t a Villa fan, it was his dad who supports the club.
