
Exclusive: Birmingham City move for Tottenham’s Alfie Devine collapses
Birmingham City’s move for Tottenham youngster Alfie Devine has fallen through on transfer deadline day, sources have told Football Insider.
The Blues had been in talks to bring the 20-year-old to St Andrews’ on loan for the 2024-25 campaign.
But the deal has now collapsed, alerting other interested clubs to his availability on the final day of the window.
Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq have been linked with a potential swoop for the youngster.
The attacking midfielder spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Plymouth and Port Vale as his development continues.
Devine, who is yet to appear in a matchday squad this term, has made two senior appearances at Tottenham but is yet to complete a breakthrough at first-team level.
Devine’s Birmingham loan falls through on deadline day
He notched three goals and five assists in 41 appearances for Championship side Plymouth and League One outfit Port Vale last term.
The 20-year-old is under contract with Spurs until June 2027 after joining the club from Wigan in 2020.
Devine primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also line up as a second striker and in central midfield.

Birmingham sit fifth in League One with seven points after three games, while Spurs are fifth in the Premier League after two games.
