Birmingham City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz is in advanced talks over a new deal at the club, Football Insider understands.
Jutkiewicz is entering the final year of his contract at St Andrew’s and the Blues are keen to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
Sources at Birmingham City have told Football Insider that the club are determined to keep hold of the forward, having already lost Che Adams to Southampton, and that they are closing in on a new deal for the 30-year-old.
The powerful forward has established himself as a key man in the Birmingham side since his arrival from Burnley in January 2017 on a permanent basis, having impressed in an initial loan spell in the midlands.
Jutkiewicz was an ever-present for Birmingham in the Championship last season, scoring 14 goals and notching 10 assists in a deadly strike partnership with Che Adams, who secured a move to Premier League side Southampton earlier this summer.
The former Everton and Middlesbrough man boasts a wealth of experience having made over 400 first-team appearances in his career to date, 278 of those coming in the Championship.
He has a total of 124 games under his belt for Birmingham to date, scoring 32 times across all competitions.
