Bournemouth are lining up a move for Club Brugge and Belgium defender Maxim De Cuyper, sources have told Football Insider.

The Cherries are ready to swoop for the Belgium international as they look to beat a number of their Premier League rivals to the left-back.

Bournemouth have identified De Cuyper as a potential replacement for in-demand defender Milos Kerkez.

The 24-year-old has impressed for Club Brugge in the Champions League this season and the Belgian club are now braced for offers for the full-back this summer.

Bournemouth ready to make De Cuyper move

He has already racked up 43 appearances across all competitions this term, notching three goals and six assists.

De Cuyper broke into the Belgium senior squad last year (2024) and has scored once in six caps for his country.

The defender is under contract until June 2028 after penning an extension last year.

He has already made more than 170 appearances in senior club football after making his first-team debut at Brugge as a 19-year-old.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (4 March) that Bournemouth star Kerkez is a concrete target for Liverpool as they plan their summer transfer business.

Bournemouth have also watched AZ Alkmaar star David Moller Wolfe in action this month as they prepare for Kerkez’s departure.

Liverpool could complete double Bournemouth swoop

Football Insider has also revealed (15 March) that Liverpool are plotting a move to sign Bournemouth sensation Dean Huijsen this summer.

A £50million release clause in his Bournemouth contract has placed clubs on alert – as they would be prepared to meet that price tag.

Liverpool plan to sign a centre-back this summer regardless of the future of Virgil van Dijk, but face competition from the likes of Real Madrid for Huijsen.
