Exclusive: Bournemouth set sights on signing Alex Arce
Bournemouth are eyeing a loan move for Paraguayan striker Alex Arce to solve their forward injury crisis, sources have told Football Insider.
The Cherries are scouring the transfer market for striking reinforcements after losing Evanilson and Enes Unal to long-term injuries this week.
LDU Quito forward Arce has emerged on Bournemouth’s radar, with the 29-year-old available on loan in this month’s transfer window.
Paraguay international Arce is a prolific goalscorer having scored 35 goals in 46 games for Quito last season to help finish top of the Ecuadorian LigaPro.
Arce is understood to be keen on trying his luck in Europe, and a number of clubs along with Bournemouth are weighing up moves for the attacker.
He only joined Quito from Argentinian side Independiente Rivadavia in February 2024, where he spent a year.
Bournemouth set sights on South American hot shot
His recent goalscoring form earned him a debut for Paraguay’s national side earlier this year and he has gone on to earn nine caps.
The six foot two inch striker has scored 73 goals in 119 games across spells in his native Paraguay, Argentina and Ecuador.

Enes Unal’s season is over after suffering a serious knee injury, while Evanilson has undergone surgery on a broken foot.
Bournemouth sit seventh in the Premier League after 20 games, with both strikers contributing to their rapid rise up the table under Andoni Iraola.
In other news, Everton have “concrete interest” in appointing Bournemouth chief.
