Everton are set to open talks with Juventus over the big-money signing of striker Moise Kean in the coming days, Football Insider has learned.
The Merseysiders have made clear their interest in prising the forward, 19, from Turin in the final three weeks of the window and the Serie A champions are ready to discuss his sale after the landmark capture of Matthijs De Ligt.
An Everton source has told Football Insider that recruitment chief Marcel Brands is ready for “intense negotiations” with his Juventus counterparts as the club attempt to win the race for one of Europe’s top young talents.
The Italian club are ready to demand a fee of up to £27million for Kean as well as demand a buy-back clause as part of the deal.
Everton face strong competition for the striker’s signature from Arsenal, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, so will not only need to match Juve’s asking price, but also convince the player.
Kean is a young forward in demand after scoring seven goals from 17 matches last season, six of which came from 13 Serie A fixtures.
The teenager has not only made the breakthrough at Italy’s strongest and most successful club, but has also achieved full international honours, scoring two goals from three matches for the national side.
Everton regard Kean as a player of huge potential with the ability to be a key member of their squad next season, as they look to strengthen their attack in the final weeks of the window.
In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed the terms of a £29million deal.
