Sources: Major update on Brentford multi-million double deal
Brentford have sealed the £3million double signing of Oxford United duo Tarique Fosu-Henry and Shandon Baptiste after they passed their medicals, Football Insider understands.
Promotion hopefuls Brentford were determined to bolster their midfield options before the transfer window closes and they have completed the double swoop for highly-rated Oxford pair Fosu-Henry, a left winger, and Baptiste, a central midfielder.
A well-placed Brentford source has told Football Insider that Fosu-Henry, 24, and Baptiste, 21, have agreed four-and-a-half year deals at Griffin Park.
Winger Fosu-Henry has impressed for Oxford this season with 10 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions after arriving from Charlton last summer.
Central midfielder Baptiste is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Football League following a number of eye-catching performances for Oxford.
The pair have shone against Premier League duo West Ham and Manchester City in Oxford’s run to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and they helped Oxford claim a draw with Newcastle in last weekend’s FA Cup clash to show they can mix it with the best.

Brentford are currently in fifth spot in the Championship, six points outside the automatic promotion spots, and they see Fosu-Henry and Baptiste as being capable of firing their promotion bid.
The ability to mix it with superior opposition that both men have shown this season suggests they’ll be capable of making the step up to the second tier.
Baptiste is more defensive-minded than Fosu-Henry, but has still managed four goals this season.
