Brighton sensation Tariq Lamptey is set to be rewarded for his fine start to the season with a new deal to ward off Bayern Munich, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 20-year-old only joined Brighton in January from Chelsea but has already established himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the Premier League.
A Brighton source has told Football Insider the club are ready to offer him a bumper pay rise as recognition for his key status.
He is on £20,000-a-week at present and the Seagulls want to reward him to bring him in line with other top earners in the team.
The Premier League outfit are aware of Bayern potentially following up their interest to make a move for him.
Lamptey is under contract at Brighton until the summer of 2023.
He is already an established member of Graham Potter’s side and regarded as integral to the new 3-4-3 formation introduced this season.
The Chelsea academy product has been playing in a right-sided wing-back role to make the most of his express pace and ability to create on the overlap.
It has paid handsome dividends already with assists from Lamptey in the first three Premier League matches of the season against Chelsea, Newcastle United and Man United.
In just 14 appearances for Brighton, the youngster has already supplied four assists, all of which have come in league matches.
