
Exclusive: Bristol City in advanced talks to sign Plymouth Argyle star Adam Randell
Bristol City are in advanced talks to sign Plymouth Argyle star midfielder Adam Randell, sources have told Football Insider.
Randell, 24, impressed for Argyle in defensive midfield despite their relegation from the Championship in the 2024-25 campaign.
The Plymouth academy product is entering the final year of his contract at Home Park.
Bristol City have now offered Randell the opportunity to stay in the Championship with a summer move to Ashton Gate.

He made 43 appearances across all competitions for Plymouth last term, notching one goal and three assists.
The midfield star, who penned his last contract extension in Devon three years ago, captained his boyhood club on multiple occasions in the 2024-25 campaign as they finished 23rd.

Randell has made 173 appearances across all competitions for Plymouth and helped them gain promotion from League One as champions in the 2022-23 season.
Bristol City are ready to swoop after missing out on promotion via the play-offs last season.
The Robins have lost manager Liam Manning to Norwich City and are widely reported to be close to appointing ex-Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber as his replacement.

Bristol City and Swansea in transfer battle
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (7 June) that Bristol City and Swansea City are plotting to sign Empoli midfielder Liam Henderson on a free transfer.
Henderson has spent the last seven years in Italy, after being sold to Bari back in 2018, before going on to play for Hellas Verona, Lecce, Palermo – and most recently Empoli.
The midfielder’s contract at Empoli is set to expire at the end of this month, meaning he is available on a free transfer.
