Michael Brown believes that Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa would “love” to sign loan star Jack Harrison.

The former Leeds and Sheffield United midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists that the 23-year-old has come on leaps and bounds since initially joining on loan in 2018.

The Manchester City winger returned to Elland Road on a season-long deal last summer, establishing himself as an important first-team player in their push for promotion.

As revealed by Football Insider, there is a permanent option included in Harrison’s loan that Leeds can trigger in the summer for less than £10million, and the player himself is keen.

With Bielsa having already signed him on loan twice, Brown believes the Argentine boss will be keen to sign the left-footed Man City forward.

Brown told Football Insider: “He’s developing, it obviously was a loan deal (last season), you’re thinking: ‘What type of player are we going to get?’

“Now, he’s really, really come on, he’s getting stronger and stronger. It’s one of those, once you start winning and you start getting a feel for it, your experience grows.

“You know when and why you made better decisions, he’s playing more. He seems to be really, really coming on. He’s one to watch.

Asked if he thinks Leeds will buy him, Brown said: “If he’s someone who’s playing week in, week out, he’s someone you’ll want in and around your squad, wherever that might be.

“It is a loan deal and it might not be in your control but when someone plays like he does, then I’m sure Marcelo Bielsa would love to have him in his squad for next season, for sure.”
