Exclusive: Brown head over heels with 'Fantastic' Leeds forward having 'Great season'
Michael Brown has lauded Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford for his ‘fantastic’ work rate this season.
The former Leeds and Tottenham midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists that it is what the 26-year-old does for his teammates that makes him such an important player at Elland Road.
The striker started Saturday’s 4-0 demolition of Hull City but was unable to add to his 12 goals this season, taking him to seven consecutive games without finding the back of the net.
He was replaced by Tyler Roberts after 66 minutes against the Tigers, the Welsh international going on to net twice.
However, Brown is not concerned with the former Middlesbrough man’s form in the box, insisting he brings plenty to the side regardless of whether he scores or not.
“I think he’s had a great season, Patrick Bamford,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He loves him, Marcelo Bielsa, and he’s straight in his team. I just think the work rate and unselfishness is fantastic.
“I’ve watched Bamford for quite a while now, regarding that work rate, that unselfishness, and he’s certainly a team player.”
Bamford, who has started all but two of Leeds’ Championship games this season, scored four goals in his first five games before going over two months without hitting the back of the net.
He has scored just two goals since Boxing Day, both of which came in the 3-2 win over Millwall back at the end of January.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED the club are working on a transfer deal which can be sealed for £5million.
