'I've been told...' - Exclusive: Pundit reacts as crunch talks confirmed at Celtic
Alex Bruce has urged Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard to sign a new deal at Parkhead after Neil Lennon confirmed contract talks are underway.
The former Kilmarnock and Northern Ireland centre-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, admits he has always been told to agree to new and improved terms whenever offered and believes the Frenchman should follow the same advice.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Lennon confirmed that the Bhoys are in discussions with Edouard’s representatives over a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in 2022.
Bruce insists that suitors will always meet a player’s price tag if they are keen enough and believes Edouard signing a new deal would not put off interested clubs.
Bruce told Football Insider: “I’ve been told whenever there’s a contract put in front of you, sign it because you never know what’s around the corner.
“If you’re doing well enough and you’re sought after and you’re good enough, which I believe Edouard is, there will be someone who comes and pays the money for you.

“My advice would be to sign the contract if it’s in front of you and you’re going to improve your money and what have you, because, as I say, if someone’s really interested in you they’ll come and meet your price.”
Edouard has scored 60 goals in 126 appearances for Celtic, with 27 of his strikes coming this season.
The Hoops also have Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo as their centre forward options at Parkhead.
