Tottenham have been tipped to sell at least a couple of players to raise funds for star arrivals.
That is according to ex-Hull City defender Alex Bruce, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, as he also explained he expects Spurs to bring in more new recruits this window.
Bruce claims one area where Jose Mourinho could potentially afford to lose players is midfield.
The Lilywhites recently added Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to their ranks and Manchester City are now preparing a £40m bid for Harry Winks, according to the Sun.
Oliver Skipp joined Norwich City on loan after the Canaries stumped up a seven figure fee for his services, as revealed by Football Insider.
Asked by Football Insider whether he can see any other midfielders departing Tottenham this summer, Bruce said: “It wouldn’t surprise me if we see a couple of outgoings.
“I do think he needs to get a couple out and he needs to strengthen in areas. I’d fully expect that to happen.
“If he wants to push for those Champions League places he needs to improve in certain areas and he needs to keep people on their toes by bringing people in.
“But I fully expect a couple to leave as well.”
Tanguy Ndombele has been linked with an exit to Italian giants Inter Milan all summer but a deal is yet to materialise.
Spurs now have Højbjerg, Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier who can all play in a similar role to Ndombele.
After joining the club from Lyon last summer, the 23-year-old played 29 games for the lilywhites, scoring twice.
