Exclusive: ‘Burnley race Leeds United to sign Manor Solomon’

Burnley have joined Leeds United in the race to sign Tottenham star Manor Solomon ahead of the summer transfer window.

That is according to former Tottenham and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that both clubs are keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old’s situation at Spurs.

The winger spent last season on loan at Elland Road, sparking interest in a permanent move, but his future remains up in the air as things stand.

Football Insider revealed in May that Solomon’s future at Tottenham is an open race as Leeds will compete with the likes of Marseille for his signature.

Now, Burnley are the latest club to show an interest as Scott Parker plans to strengthen his attacking options alongside the permanent addition of Jaidon Anthony.

This comes after Football Insider revealed Solomon is likely to leave Tottenham after his successful loan spell as they can make significant profit on his sale.

Leeds joined in race to sign Tottenham star Manor Solomon

Brown told Football Insider in March that Leeds are “desperate” to keep Solomon at Elland Road, with the deal a “no brainer” for Daniel Farke.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that Burnley are now among multiple clubs aiming to swoop ahead of their rivals.

Burnley are now interested in signing Solomon,” he told Football Insider.

“A few of their better players have been linked with moves away, which is a concern, but they want to strengthen the squad as well.

“Scott Parker is looking at attacking reinforcements and he is on their list.

“Of course, the interest from Leeds is there because he had a very successful loan spell with them.

“Those two aren’t going to be the only interested clubs because of how impressive he was.

“It doesn’t look like he’ll be a regular for Tottenham, so they can provide the opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League which might tempt him to move.

“From Spurs’ point of view, it will depend on which club makes the best offer.”

Sean Longstaff update emerges at Elland Road

Solomon is not the only player Leeds are targeting to strengthen Farke’s squad this summer, as they are keeping tabs on Sean Longstaff’s situation.

Football Insider revealed that Newcastle could accept £10million offers for Longstaff amid interest from both Leeds and Everton in what would be a “bargain” deal.

Longstaff is set to enter the final year of his contract in Eddie Howe’s side, with his long-term future now regarded as “definitely” away from Newcastle.

This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that Everton and Newcastle are keen to agree a fee for Longstaff in a deal which would suit all parties.
