Exclusive: Burton respond to Bradford City’s six-figure Jake Beesley offer
Bradford City have seen a six-figure bid for Burton Albion striker Jake Beesley rejected, sources have told Football Insider.
The League One high flyers have targeted Beesley in the closing stages of the transfer window as they look to strengthen their attacking options to aid in their promotion bid.
However, Burton have turned down their offer for the 29-year-old as they have no plans to lose such a key player in their battle for survival.
Beesley has a contract at Burton until 2027, putting the club in a strong position to turn down offers during the mid-season transfer window.

Burton reject Bradford City’s Jake Beesley offer
Beesley is seen as a crucial part of Burton’s scrap against relegation, with the club currently sitting in 20th place and just five points separating 15th and 23rd.
The striker has scored nine goals and provided six assists across all competitions so far this season including two in his last three games.
That form has placed him firmly on Bradford’s radar as their current top scorers Antoni Sarcevic and Bobby Pointon have seven goals each in League One.
Graham Alexander is keen to add more firepower to his attacking line this month, with Beesley emerging at the top of their list of targets.
However, it remains to be seen whether they will follow up with a second bid after seeing their latest offer quickly rebuffed by Burton.
Bradford City close in on Ethan Wheatley deal
Alongside their efforts to land Beesley, Bradford have also been working on a deal to sign Man United youngster Ethan Wheatley this month.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 13 January that Bradford have agreed to sign Wheatley from United on a loan deal until the end of the season.
While no formal confirmation has been announced by either club, Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann appears to have confirmed the Bantams’ deal ahead of their clash.
The striker, 19, spent the first half of the season on loan at Northampton Town before he was recalled by his parent club with the intention of a step up.
Wheatley has notched three goals and one assist for Northampton so far this term, and Bradford are now about to become the beneficiaries of his recall from Sixfields.
