Exclusive: Caoimhin Kelleher wants to quit Liverpool
Caoimhin Kelleher wants to leave Liverpool in search of first-team football in next summer’s transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
This comes after Football Insider revealed that clubs would have to pay £25-30million to land the 25-year-old amid interest from Celtic.
Kelleher has turned in a number of impressive performances while filling in at Anfield during Alisson’s absence through injury, but feels he is worthy of being the number one elsewhere.
Since the start of last season, he has started 34 times as stand-in for the Brazil international, and his displays have attracted plenty of attention.
The impending arrival of Georgi Mamardashvilli, who was signed in the summer and is spending the season on loan at Valencia, has caused further concerns about the number two’s future.
There is a growing belief that Kelleher will no longer be in line for regular appearances at Anfield, and he has let it be known to friends that he will look to move unless he is given assurances of his position.
If the club cannot offer regular playing time, the Ireland international is expected to seek first-team opportunities elsewhere.

During the summer transfer window, a number of Premier League clubs had expressed an interest in the Liverpool shot-stopper, and he remains highly regarded.
Celtic have earmarked him as a long-term choice for their number-one position for when Kasper Schmeichel, 38, leaves the club.
If Kelleher makes the decision to leave Anfield at the end of the season, it is thought several clubs will enter the race amid a scramble for his signature.
Mamardashivilli, meanwhile, is being groomed to take over the number-one position at Anfield when they feel it is time for Alisson to move on.
