
Exclusive: Cardiff City agree to sign Chris Willock after QPR exit
Cardiff City have won the race to sign former Queens Park Rangers winger Chris Willock, sources have told Football Insider.
Willock, 26, will join the Bluebirds on a free transfer after leaving Loftus Road at the end of his contract last month.
Cardiff have beaten off competition from several other clubs to land Willock.
The London-born ace made 39 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, with 27 of those outings coming as part of the starting lineup.
He notched four goals and four assists as QPR finished 18th in the Championship after staving off the early threat of relegation.
Willock started his career as a youth at Arsenal and made two appearances for the London giants before joining Benfica on a free transfer in 2017.
He built senior experience with loans at West Brom and Huddersfield before joining QPR in 2020.
Cardiff wrap up deal for free agent Willock
Willock, who is the brother of Newcastle United star Joe, made 144 appearances for the Loftus Road club across four years.
He notched 20 goals and 22 assists during his time in west London – all of which came in the Championship.
The former England Under-20 international can play on both flanks and in attacking midfield.

Cardiff finished 12th in the Championship last term under the management of Erol Bulut.
The Bluebirds host Sunderland in their first second-tier game of the new season on 10 August.
