Exclusive: Cardiff star Michael Reindorf undergoing Bristol Rovers medical

Bristol Rovers are in advanced talks to sign Cardiff forward Michael Reindorf ahead of Notts County, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gas have hijacked Notts County’s move for the 19-year-old forward, with the Meadow Lane side previously agreeing a loan deal.

But Bristol Rovers have advanced in talks for Reindorf and the player is now travelling to the League One club to undergo a medical and sign contracts on Monday morning (3 February).

Football Insider first revealed interest from Notts County and Rovers in the Cardiff City forward last week (24 January).

Newport County and Motherwell were also keen to do a deal for the teenager.

But Bristol Rovers have won the race for Reindorf’s signature and will now take him on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.

He has made four appearances for Cardiff’s senior side this term – including one start against Premier League Southampton in the League Cup.

Reindorf also played for the Cardiff Under-21 side in the Welsh League Cup, scoring seven goals in four outings.

The youngster only joined the Bluebirds on a free transfer last summer after the expiry of his deal at Norwich City.

He can play as a centre-forward and in attacking midfield.
