Celtic winger James Forrest is set to sign a new deal at the club today, Football Insider sources understands.
The Scottish champions have been in talks with Forrest over a new deal for several weeks and terms have been agreed on a new long-term contract.
The 27-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season, but Celtic have moved to tie him down to a new four-year contract that will tie him down to his boyhood club until the summer of 2022.
An announcement is expected in the next 24 hours from the Scottish giants.
Forrest has come through the ranks at Celtic and has established himself as a key player in Brendan Rodgers’ side during the last few seasons.
Scotland international Forrest has made over 300 appearances for Celtic and scored 57 goals for the Bhoys during his time at Parkhead.
News of Forrest’s new deal will come as a massive boost to Celtic boss Rodgers after their worst start to a league season in 20 years.
